安华中文学校于1993年成立并于次年底诞生。二十多年来的迅速发展吸引了当地和周边地区的学生，成为本地区最有影响的中文学校。学生主要来源于Ann Arbor，少数来源于周边的Saline，Milan，Jackson和Canton 。学生家庭以中国大陆移民及其后裔为主，也包括台湾和一些东南亚国家移民，以及部分希望学习中文和中国文化的外国人士。Ann-Hua Chinese School was born in 1993, and quickly grew into one of the most impactful Chinese School in the region. It attracts hundreds of students each year, mostly from Ann Arbor and the rest from surrounding areas including Saline, Milan, Jackson and Canton. Most of enrolled families are immigrants from China Mainland, Taiwan and countries of Southeast Asia or Chinese descendants. We also serve non-Chinese speakers those who are interested in Chinese languages and Chinese cultures.

        1996 年，由于学生人数的不断增多以及生源的广阔，加之教室数量的 限制和远道学生的交通不便，安华中文学校在安娜堡东部的凯通地区成 立了分校。随着分校的迅速扩大，为了便于管理，分校独立为凯通中文 学校。2000 年，由于同样的原因，凯通中文学校又衍生出又一所中文学 校，即现在的新世纪中文学校。In 1996, the Canton branch of Ann-Hua Chinese School was established. Considering the large number of the enrolled students spreading over a large area and limited classrooms, the school offered convenience for the families who had to travel far to attend classes.  Soon after, the Canton branch was able to develop into Plymouth-Canton Chinese Learning Center (PCCLC), a 501c(3) non-profit organization managed independently. In 2000, a spin-off Chinese School of PCCLC, Michigan New Center Chinese School was established for similar reasons.

 

        1998 年，安华中文学校和其它28 所会员学校一起，响应全美中文学 校协会的倡议，成立了学校的慈善募捐组织–“彩虹计划” 。参与 “彩虹计划” 工作的全部是志愿者，募集的捐款 100% 用于资助贫困家庭的学生。In response to the initiative raised by the Chinese School Association of United States (CSAUS), Ann-Hua Chinese School started its Rainbow Project, together with other 28 member schools of CSAUS. Rainbow Project aims to raise fund to support students in property. The project is completely run by volunteers.

       2009年安华活动中心成立以组织和开展家长活动为主， 专门领导和组织社区活动，为全社区华人的 需求服务。Another important program, Ann-Hua Activity Center was initiated in 2009. The center focuses on supporting activities of parents, organizing community activities and serving the needs of Ann-Hua community. 

        随着安华的不断发展和壮大，其日常事务已经远远超越教学范畴。 安华董事会于2018年决定将“安华中文学校”更名为“安华协会”，同时修改章程。经过律师的建议，安华将保留“安华中文学校”和“安华协会”同时并用。目前安华协会由会员大会、董事会、执委会三个部分 组成；执委会由安华中文学校、彩虹计划团队、安华社区活动中心和其他组成单位组成。With the continuous development and growth of Ann-Hua, its daily affairs have far exceeded the scope of education. In 2018, the Board of Directors decided to rename the organization to “Ann-Hua Association” and change its bylaws, to fit the need of the growing organization. After consulting with our lawyer, Ann-Hua will use both “Ann-Hua Chinese School” and “Ann-Hua Association” as its official names. Currently, the organization is composed of membership, Board of Directors and the Program Committee which manages Ann-Hua Chinese School, Ann-Hua Activity Center, Rainbow Project and other units. 

       安华中文学校开设了以暨大和马立平教材为主线的两套中文教程，同时也将中文学习领域扩展到以中文为第二语言的教学，进一步把中文学习的窗口伸向了华人社区以外的地方。为了加强学生对中国文化的了解和认同，安华还设有武术、民族舞蹈、绘画、演讲、写作、中国文化知识这些兴趣班。作为当地公立教育的补充，设有中文AP课程，SAT课程，还有以激发学习兴趣为目标的数学强化课。安华学生除了参加每周日的常规课程，还有很多机会参加安华组织的大型活动。如深受当地华人社区好评的春节联欢会和中秋晚会、独立日游行、才艺大赛、毕业礼、期末野餐会、夏令营，还有各种竞赛活动（中文知识和演讲比赛、中国文化常识竞赛、数学竞赛、摄影比赛）等等。Ann-Hua Chinese School currently runs two parallel Chinese syllabuses, JiDa and MLP, and extends its Chinese education outside of Chinese community by offering Chinese as Second Language (CSL) series. In order to promote the recognition and understanding of the Chinese culture, the school offers martial arts, folk dances, drawing, writing, Speech and Chinese culture classes. To complement the public education by local schools, Chinese AP, SAT classes and Math series are also offered. Besides learning in the classrooms every Sunday, Ann-Hua students have many opportunities to participate in the events organized by the organization, such as Chinese New Year celebrations, Moon Festival celebrations, Independence Day parade, Talent Show, Graduation Ceremony, End-of-Year Picnic, Summer Camp and competitions/games on various topics (e.g., Chinese culture, speech, math, photography, etc.).

        安华建立初依靠是家长们的义务工作，家长们的奉献精神一直延续至今，是安华的成功经验。和所有的事业一样，成功的背后都有着艰难和困苦。二十几年来，学校也面临过许多困难，其中最大的困难就是教室问题，特别是学生人数增多后，教室的需求量就逐渐加大。为了寻找既适合学生上课，又能满足目前办学规模的教室，安华辗转走过了密大北校区Family Housing Activity Center, Pierpont Commons, HH Dow Building, 中校园Michigan League, Angell Hall, Slauson Middle School, 以及Concordia University。目前安华中文学校的面授课程每周日在 Washtenaw Community College上课； 由于教学和实时需要安华同时开展了丰富多样的网络课程教学。Ann-Hua was established on the voluntary work of the parents. It is the continuous support and contribution of our volunteers that make Ann-Hua a success. Ann-Hua has encountered many challenges and difficulties since it was founded, just as many other successful organizations. One of the biggest problems we are facing is the limited space for classes. When Ann-Hua grows in size, its demand on classrooms increases correspondingly. As a result, Ann-Hua has had to move on multiple occasions to fit the demands. We had used classrooms of Family Housing Activity Center, Pierpont Commons, HH Dow Building, Michigan League, Angell Hall of University of Michigan, Slauson Middle School and Concordia University in the past. Currently, Ann-Hua Chinese School offers its in-person classes in Washtenaw Community College every Sunday. Virtual classes are also offered when needed.
